2017 ‘Friends of Children’ Awardees Recognized

The Child Care Council of Cornell Cooperative Extension announced its 2017 ‘Friends of Children’ award winners at a recognition dinner on May 9th, 2017 at the Radisson in Utica.
The Friends of Children awards recognize individual child care professionals in all modalities of New York State regulated child care who display outstanding service and dedication to the children in their care. Additional awards are given to recognize community members, community agencies, family friendly employers and youth who demonstrate their support of children through action, word or deed.
Over 120 nominations were received for 91 individuals and agencies in categories that recognize the contribution of child care professionals, employers and community members who demonstrate exemplary care and support to the children of Herkimer, Madison and Oneida counties through direct or indirect service. The event was attended by over 250 people, and awards were presented to the following category winners:

Recipient of the Vivian C Kinney Lifelong Friend of Children Award was Kimberly Fragetta, Child & Family Services Instructor, Herkimer BOCES. On the wake of her retirement, she is recognized for her commitment to ensure that the children of our community receive the very best start in life by establishing a high standard of care and education that provides support of parents and fosters optimal child development.
