Central Regional Master Gardener Volunteer Training

Cornell Cooperative Extension Oneida County is participating in the Central Regional Master Gardener Volunteer Training. The training will be held over a two-year period. Currently, we are starting up our second year. And we have a few openings this year. Attendance of all Master Gardener Volunteer Training class sessions is a requirement for successful completion of the course which will begin with a Kick-off Orientation session Saturday, March 11th starting at 10:00am. Trainings will be held on set Saturdays from 10am to 3:00pm. Session locations will vary and require up to an hour to 2 hour of travel to training location. This year’s training dates are as followed: April 8th, April 29th, June 3rd, and June 24th. Training topics offered Annuals and Perennials, Plant Propagation, Lawn Care, Plant Pathology and Woody Plants.
We are looking for motivated individuals who have an interest in gardening and to be involved in community outreach at the Extension’s Parker F. Scripture Botanical and out in the community. Cost of the training is $150 for Oneida County residents and out of the county $200. Local Extension staff, business professionals and seasoned Master Gardener Volunteers teach classes.
